In terms of longterm running are ink jet printers more cost effective than laser printers? ?

considering cartridge/toner cost refilling etc what's d most cost effective? print quality doesn't matter but i do alot of printing and i will also prefer a printer that prints front and back at d same time without having to turn it upside down to print the other side.tnx In terms of longterm running are ink jet printers more cost effective than laser printers? ?
Laser Jets by far, better quality and easier care. If you do a lot of printing, invest in a business printer that can handle duplexing. A decent HP shouldn't run you more then $500, and the toner shouldn't run much. Honestly, the only thing that is better about an ink-jet is the imaging quality. If you plan on printing a ton of pictures, invest in an ink-jet otherwise stick with a laser jetIn terms of longterm running are ink jet printers more cost effective than laser printers? ?
Unless you absolutely need photo quality, go with a laser. Lasers have sharper text and are generally faster than inkjets. While toner cartridges are more expensive than ink, they print more pages, so the cost per page is lower. But you pay more up front. Inkjets are better for photos. Personally, I use both. I have an inkjet for photos and a color laser for jobs which don't need absolute photo quality.

You can get a good color laser today for $80! Samsung CLP-300 at http://www.staples.com/office/supplies/p鈥?/a>

I have this printer and it's really nice. Toner cartridges are more expensive then inkjet cartridges ($70 for a set of 4 at http://ccs-digital.com/ink.asp ) but they last for about 2,000 pages. It does a nice job on photos, but an inkjet is still better for this.

A plain black laser can be had for $40. I think color is worth $40 more.
